HISTORY

This is a microdot sniper smock that was adopted by the former Yugoslavian army in the 1970s and 1980s. Shortly after World War II, under President Tito, Yugoslavia broke away from the Soviet camp and chose a "non-aligned" position that did not join the West. At that time, strengthening defense in the mountainous areas bordering Romania and Albania became a top priority, and units were formed mainly from experienced partisans who knew the harsh mountainous terrain well. For them, visibility suppression performance, which was insufficient with conventional camouflage uniforms, was an urgent need, and it seems that the development of a new pattern that was effective both in long-distance and close-up views was particularly required. This is the background against which the microdot camouflage was born in the 1970s. In order to adapt to various terrains and climates such as karst plateaus and snowy fields in winter, the dense dots were scattered to visually separate human figures and blur their outlines regardless of distance. Furthermore, its reversible design gives it great versatility, allowing it to be worn in both forest and snowy conditions, making it an essential piece of equipment for special forces and snipers.

While the unique camouflage pattern is eye-catching, it also stands out from traditional camo patterns. It is a highly fashionable camo in modern times. The fabric is made of thin cotton poplin, making it an over-smock that is both light and breathable. It was originally made to be worn over combat uniforms, and has a loose, over-sized silhouette. CONDITION

This is dead stock. It has been cleaned once because of the dusty smell caused by long-term storage. There is no dirt or damage from storage, and it is in very good condition, which is rare. There is no dirt on either the gloves or the storage bag.
